Meet the Volleyball Coaches

Emma Carter
Head Coach

Emma Hannaford Carter is in her second season as the head coach of the Davidson-Davie STORM volleyball program. She was named the head volleyball coach in March 2024, following coaching at Karns High School and Club Unite in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Carter played for Johnson University from 2020-2022 before graduating a year early. She was a three-year starter as a middle blocker, earning 2-time All Mideast Region Honors, as well as being named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
Carter is from Jackson, Tennessee where she graduated from Trinity Christian Academy. During her high school career, she was a 4-year starter, earning All-Conference honors and leading the team in multiple statistical categories . She was part of 2 Conference Championships, 2 Region Titles, and one trip to the State tournament.
In 2023, Carter graduated from Johnson University with a degree in Family Studies and Bible & Theology. She is married to William Carter, who is a Ph.D. student at Wake Forest University.

Katelyn Devane

Katelyn DeVane is in her second season with the Davidson-Davie STORM Volleyball program.
Prior to this role, DeVane managed youth and adult sports leagues, including basketball, softball, and soccer. She also gained valuable experience working in the Athletic Communications Department at Wingate University for two years.
A native of Lillington, North Carolina, DeVane graduated at the top of her class in high school. DeVane earned four varsity letters in volleyball and served as team captain for two years. She was also a four-year letter winner in basketball and softball and a three-time NCISAA softball state champion.
DeVane holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Community & Commercial Recreation and a Master of Arts in Sport Management, both from Wingate University.
