Paramedic Hybrid Academy 

The Paramedic Certificate Course provides individuals with the knowledge, skills and attributes to provide advanced emergency medical care as a paramedic for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system, and prepares graduates to enter the workforce. This course will prepare graduates to enter the workforce. Coursework is done on campus and online.

Attention Public Safety Personnel: For students registering for the first time in a Davidson-Davie Community College class that may be eligible for a fee waiver contact our registration office directly at (336) 224-4545 or email ceregistration@davidsondavie.edu and provide name, address, etc., class information and the public safety agency you are affiliated with.

Paramedic Student Prerequisites:

Successful completion of an EMT Program (EMT Card or P#)

High School Diploma (or equivalent)

College Credit for English (transcript grade of C or higher) **OR** within the previous 12 months complete a written assessment placing the individual into college-level English. Contact Leann Pate for registration for Placement test after submitting form (leann_pate@davidsondavie.edu)

College Credit for Math (transcript grade of C or higher) **OR** within the previous 12 months complete a written assessment placing the individual into college-level Math. Contact Leann Pate for registration for Placement test after submitting form (leann_pate@davidsondavie.edu)

Need to produce transcript for one combination of courses by May 8, 2026:

  • Activate your StormTrac account to gain access to the DDCC email account. This is the only way to officially email your instructor during the course

 

Methods of Instruction: Online course work, class lecture, class discussion, group work, role-play, videos, scenarios, and reading assignments. Students must maintain access to online and supplemental material throughout this course, abiding by the terms/conditions.
