This course teaches the skills needed to operate a motorcycle safely in traffic. The student learns the location and operation of the controls of the motorcycle. The students practice riding to demonstrate they have the strength, balance and coordination to perform straight – line riding, shifting, turning and stopping exercises. The student learns street-riding strategies needed for riding on the highway in traffic and also learns skills to avoid accidents which include emergency braking, swerving and proper cornering techniques.
Class meets on Thursday evening’s from 6-10 p.m. and Saturday/Sunday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. for a total of 20 hours.
All classes meet on the Davidson Campus, Public Safety Building, Room 100.
