Travel to Portugal with DCCC

Community Members Invited to Join DCCC-Sponsored Trip

Thomasville, N.C. … Ancient castles, Roman ruins, groves of lemon and almond trees, and quiet whitewashed villages are among the highlights of a trip to Portugal planned in May by Davidson County Community College.

Area residents are invited to join the nine-day tour planned through Collette Guided Travel. The cost of the trip is $3,699 and includes round-trip airfare, land transportation, hotel accommodations, sightseeing locations and 14 meals. Individuals who register for the trip before Nov. 20 will qualify to receive a $200 early bird discount.

The trip begins with three nights in Cascais, a scenic coastal resort on the Portuguese Riviera, and tours of Lisbon, with travel to Sintra and along the Silver Coast to Obidos and Fatima. Other highlights include travel through the countryside to historic Evora, Monsaraz and Alentejo, travel to Algarve, Sagres, Faro and São Brás de Alportel, plus a Portuguese cooking demonstration, wine tours and tastings.
