Where is the Learning Commons?
The Learning Commons (LC) is located on the first floor of the Grady Edward Love Learning Resource Center on the Davidson Campus, which is often referred to as the LRC.
Does the Learning Commons provide one-on-one tutoring for everyone?
Yes! The Learning Commons provides tutoring in the following ways:
- Open Lab: Open Lab allows you to drop in during operational hours and get help with your studies. Coaches are available to help answer your questions and provide examples.
- Appointment-based Tutoring: Our online scheduling tool allows you to schedule tutoring appointments for all in-person and online appointments.
- Online Tutoring: The online scheduler allows Davidson-Davie students to schedule online appointments with Learning Commons Coaches during our posted hours or with ThinkingStorm online tutors.

My instructor told me to make a testing appointment. What do I do?
You can conveniently schedule all of your testing appointments online through our online scheduler. Find the test you need to take and schedule the day and time that work for you. Remember, appointments must be made or rescheduled 24 hours in advance.
I need to take a test. Where do I go?
Come to the Learning Commons Welcome Desk, located on the first floor of the Grady Edward Love Learning Resource Center on the Davidson Campus, at your appointment time and one of our friendly staff members can confirm your test and check you in. I didn’t get the help I needed in the Learning Commons. Now what?
Whatever the case, we want to get things back on track for you. Visit our Welcome Desk to speak with a staff member or contact us by email.
I need a quiet place to study, what do I do?
The Learning Commons provides four study rooms for students. Rooms can be reserved at the Learning Commons Welcome Desk. Please remember, it is first come, first served.
