New Partner Supports STORM Athletics

New Partner Supports STORM Athletics

October 12, 2022 – With STORM women’s volleyball looking back on a successful fall season, and STORM men’s basketball prepping to hit the court in November, a new partner is showing his support for Davidson-Davie’s athletics program.

“I knew Josh Hill would be a winner when I coached him at East Davidson High School more than 15 years ago,” said Matt Ridge, now director of athletics and head men’s basketball coach at Davidson-Davie. “When I coach, I want to help my athletes develop the characteristics they need to be successful in all areas of life, and I knew Josh had just that drive and determination.”

Today, Josh Hill is a broker and realtor who started The Hill Group, a top-selling real estate team in Lexington and Thomasville focused on residential real estate. A new outdoor sign at the entrance to Brinkley Gym is proof of his belief in the STORM.

“I’m so excited about our partnership with Davidson-Davie Athletics and the opportunity we have to be part of something bigger than ourselves,” said Hill. “It’s safe to say that Coach Ridge had a significant impact on my mindset, my approach to life, learning how to win at a high level, and most importantly, who I am as a person today.”

In the same way that Ridge helped him form habits ranging from punctuality to being a good team player to learning how to both win and lose, Hill is confident that STORM athletes are learning how to win inside and outside the lines.

“We’re just so proud to be part of the program,” Hill said.
