Gene Haas Foundation to Present Scholarship Funds for DCCC Advanced Manufacturing Students

Who: Gene Haas Foundation in partnership with Davidson County Community College

What: A representative of the Gene Haas Foundation will present a $25,000 check to fund scholarships for students enrolled in Advanced Manufacturing programs at DCCC.

Why: DCCC will receive $25,000 to be distributed as scholarships to students enrolled in the college’s Advanced Manufacturing programs. The Gene Haas Scholarship is for students in post-secondary programs that teach CNC Machine Technology, Adult CNC training programs, or an Engineering program that incorporates CNC machine technology. Since its inception in 1999, the Gene Haas Foundation has awarded deserving charitable organizations and schools more than $27 million in grants. Gene Haas is the founder of Haas Automation, manufacturer of industry-leading CNC machines and technology.

The primary purpose of the Gene Haas Foundation is to provide scholarship funding. The Gene Haas Scholarship is for a post-secondary program that teaches CNC Machine Technology, Adult CNC training programs or an Engineering program that incorporates CNC training in the curriculum. Scholarships for other fee programs in CNC machine technology are eligible by a case basis. High Schools programs can apply for their graduating seniors or post-secondary programs for their students. Regional Vocation Centers can apply for the students costs to attend.
