Work-Study Placement Process and Position Descriptions

Work-Study Placement Process

  1. The information you provided on your application, including your college major, work experience, volunteer experience, and skills will be used to match you with an open work study position. However, a completed application is not a guarantee of employment with the work-study program due to the number of applications received and the number of positions available. You must complete your FAFSA prior to applying for a work-study position.
  2. Supervisors will review your application and will call or email you to schedule an interview if they decide you may be a candidate for hire in their departments.
  3. It is strongly recommended that you print your class schedule and provide the supervisor with your schedule when you arrive at the interview.
  4. After your interview, if the supervisor indicates that they would like to hire you, you will be contacted by the Career Development Office and asked to complete an online Work-Study Orientation in addition to new hire documents through the College Human Resources Office. These must be completed before you can begin working in your new position.
  5. If you are not hired after your interview, you may still be considered for other positions until they are all filled. The Career Development Office will contact you by email with other work study positions that have openings.
  6. Important Reminder: Make sure you are checking your Davidson-Davie email each week. We will communicate with you about work-study through your email. Supervisors may choose to contact you through your Davidson-Davie email as well. If you have any questions, contact our office at careers@davidsondavie.edu.
