Eligible 2022 High School Graduates Can Get Tuition and Fees Covered

Have you heard that there is a new grant to help you pay for college? No way? Yes way!

Eligible North Carolina high school graduates attending Davidson-Davie Community College starting in the Fall 2022 semester can get tuition and fees covered by the North Carolina Longleaf Commitment Grant. Full-time eligible students enrolled in a curriculum program are guaranteed $700 to $2,800 per year for two years, while part-time students may receive a partial award.

How do you know if you’re eligible? Here are the requirements:

• Graduate from a North Carolina high school between December 2021 & July 2022
• Be a North Carolina resident for tuition purposes
• Be a first-time college student (CCP and early/middle college students are eligible)
• Enroll in a curriculum program for Fall 2022
• Enroll in at least 6 credit hours per semester
• Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for 2022-23
• Have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) from $0 – $15,000 as determined by the FAFSA
• Renew the FAFSA for the 2023-24 academic year and meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress
  Requirements of the college

Your next step is to file the 2022-2023 FAFSA at fafsa.gov.
