DCCC to Participate in National Voter Registration Day 2016

Davidson County Community College will host a voter registration event in honor of National Voter Registration Day on September 27, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the courtyard of the Davidson Campus.

The event is sponsored by the Student Government Association.

As a non-partisan, unofficial national holiday, National Voter Registration Day counts on thousands of partners and volunteers across the political spectrum. Started in 2012, National Voter Registration Day is designed to create an annual moment when the entire nation focuses on registering Americans to exercise their most basic right—the right to vote.

“We are all students, but we are also all citizens of the United States of America. We have the opportunity to make choices that effect our nation through voting. However, without registering to vote, we are wasting our privilege, so the student government is encouraging students to come out and make their voices heard,” says Connie Morse, president of the DCCC Student Government Association.

Morse and other officers of the College’s Student Government Association will be assisting participants with registering to vote. The event is free and open to the public.
