Davidson County Community College is presenting its fall 2107 art show entitled “Artful Style.” The exhibit, free and open to the public, opens on Tuesday, August 29 with a free reception from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. in the Mendenhall Building on the Davidson campus. Thirteen artists from North Carolina are exhibiting works in photography, watercolors, oils, acrylics, mixed media and sculpture. The reception will showcase the artwork of the following artists:
Cynthia Aldrich from Durham, displays the Dancer series of ceramic sculptures, all capturing moments of movement in expression of dance.
Mal Barnes of Clemmons, shows his colorful photographs with an emphasis on the unusual and abstract images of landscapes.
Terri Burke of Lewisville, exhibits photos of adoptable dogs and cats, part of Project Pearl whereby photographers help with the adoption awareness.
Teresa Rose Everhart of Winston-Salem, exhibits nature paintings of birds and flowers created in oil and acrylic.
Judith Glazier of High Point, displays acrylic, oil and watercolor paintings of landscapes, birds, flowers and animals.
Emily Jamison of Asheville, displays mixed media and acrylic abstracts that show movement and energy.
Larua Le Modilinski of Winston-Salem, displays oil paintings of horses and other animals, as well as landscapes in nature.
Kathryn B. Phillips of Asheville, shows large watercolor paintings that have redesigns of agricultural equipment done in a creative manner.
Cheryl Powell of Winston-Salem, displays traditional oil paintings of people, landscapes, and still life.
Craig Richards of Winston-Salem, shows oil paintings of landscapes done in a traditional manner.
Kathryn Troxler of Greensboro, exhibits oil, pastel and watercolor paintings of landscapes, flowers and buildings.
Jutta Vest of Concord, displays oil and pastel paintings of scenery and animals.
Joni Warren of Hildebran, exhibits photography of garden scenes, landscapes and animals.
