Wine Mouths Summer Camp: The Science of Wine

Get ready to embark on a spirited adventure at Wine Mouths Summer Camp, the ultimate adult summer camp experience where wine appreciation meets summer fun! Join the Wine Mouths, local wine educators, for a three-day learning adventure with an in-depth journey into the science of wine. Each night, we’ll gather at a different local winery for stories, activities, tastings, and fun!

Night 1: Science in the Vineyard. We’ll taste wines while we talk about the biology of grapes, bugs, viruses, and chemistry in the field.

Night 2: Science in the Winery.  Learn about the science involved in turning grapes into wine – from fermentation to additives.

Night 3: Science in the Glass. Wrap up your wine science journey by mastering the art of sensory evaluation. Discover the role of tannins, acidity, and aroma in your overall wine experience.

This class isn’t just for science nerds. Whether you’re a wine novice or enthusiast, join us for an enlightening journey into the scientific realm of winemaking. Book your spot today and let’s raise a glass to the joys of wine…and science!

NOTE: Classes will be held in Davie County at Lazy Elm Vineyards, RayLen Vineyards, and Dove Vine Beverage.

NOTE: Tastings/Tours at the wineries will be an additional cost to be paid by each person at the wineries. Tastings are approximately $15.00-$20.00 per person.  Must be 21 years of age to register.
