Vehicle OBD-II Certification

This course is designed to prepare auto technicians and service personnel as OBD emission inspectors for motor vehicles. Course topics include regulations and test inspection procedures required by the NC DMV – Enforcement Section – for OBD emission inspectors. Upon completion a student should understand the rules, regulations and procedures for OBD emission inspections, be able to inspect a vehicle properly and be prepared to sit for the state certification exam. Students will receive hands-on lab experience with OBD test equipment.

NOTE: Must have completed Vehicle Safety Inspection class and must have valid drivers license.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING A COMPLETED AND SIGNED INSPECTOR/MECHANIC CERTIFICATION ACTION FORM TO CLASS. THIS IS REQUIRED IN ORDER FOR YOUR CERTIFICATION TO BE MAILED TO DMV. THE ATTACHED LINK WILL TAKE YOU TO THE DMV FORMS PAGE. PLEASE PRINT FORM LT-310.
