Does your EMS agency face familiar faces, avoidable transports, and gaps in access to care for
certain populations? Community paramedicine is a branch of EMS that focuses on preventive
health care, navigation of community resources to connect individuals to social services, and
much more. Community paramedics receive training in a variety of skills sets outside of the
traditional 911 service. These skills include chaplain services, hospice care, health literacy training,
digital literacy training, and public health outreach.
