Retail Pharmacy Technician Training

This course is designed to provide instruction in the technical procedures for preparing and dispensing drugs in the hospital and retail settings under supervision of a registered pharmacist. Topics include drug packaging and labeling, out-patient dispensing, hospital dispensing procedures, controlled substance procedures, inventory control, and non-sterile compounding. Upon completion, students should be able to perform basic supervised dispensing techniques in a variety of pharmacy settings. Successful participants can opt to sit for the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam.  https://www.ptcb.org/.

Notes: LDTE: 9/15/23 This course will meet in person in the Health Science building at DDCC on Monday nights for 24 hours of instruction. The remaining 72 hours of class will be completed in Moodle over the course of 8 weeks.
