Retail Pharmacy Technician Training

This course is designed to provide instruction in the technical procedures for preparing and dispensing drugs in the hospital and retail settings under supervision of a registered pharmacist. Topics include drug packaging and labeling, out-patient dispensing, hospital dispensing procedures, controlled substance procedures, inventory control, and non-sterile compounding. Upon completion, students should be able to perform basic supervised dispensing techniques in a variety of pharmacy settings. Successful participants can opt to sit for the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam.  https://www.ptcb.org/.

Book Title:  Davidson Davie Community College: Cirrus 2.0 for Certification Exam Review for Pharmacy Technicians, Fifth Edition.  The e-book and single-user code can be purchased for $92.50 plus tax OR the print edition with the single-user code cost $124.50 plus tax.  You can choose to order either the e-book or the printed edition.  We recommend the e-book since that won’t require shipping and will be available  almost immediately.
