English to ASL Translation

This course will continue to build on the fundamental elements of American Sign Language (ASL) within a cultural context. Emphasis is placed on the development of basic expressive and receptive skills. Upon completion, students will be able to comprehend and respond with grammatical accuracy to expressive American Sign Language and demonstrate cultural awareness. The students will learn the important list of words, phrases or sentences to be used when translating from English sentences to ASL signed sentences.
