This course provides instruction related to framing and finishing in residential or commercial settings. Emphasis is placed on safety, proper use of power and hand tools, selecting, measuring and cutting framing lumber, and the assembly of wall, floor and/or roof framing systems. Upon completion, students will have the knowledge to apply safety practices and procedures; identify and demonstrate the proper use of tools and equipment associated with framing and finishing in construction; identify and estimate material requirements from blueprints; and demonstrate proper methods used in framing and finishing.
THERE WILL BE A LIVE PROJECT BUILD AT THE DAVIE HABITAT FOR HUMANITY’S NEWEST HOME LOCATION.
Closed toe shoes are required.
