Career & College Promise Eligibility Criteria

Rising Freshmen and Sophomores – College Transfer

A qualified freshman or sophomore must meet the following criteria:

  • Be identified as gifted by: 
    • Local AIG plan in English/reading and math; OR
    • An approved aptitude and achievement test evidenced by a score between the 92nd -99th percentile 
  • Demonstrate college readiness on approved assessments in English, reading, and math 
  • Receive the following recommendations:
    • High school principal verifying maturity to enroll
    • AIG Coordinator
    • Davidson-Davie’s EVP, Academics and Student Affairs
    • Written consent of the student’s parent/guardian
  • Receive academic advising prior to enrollment in the program

Rising Freshmen & Sophomores – Career & Technical Education

A qualified freshman or sophomore must meet the following criteria:

  • Have passed Math I with a grade of “C” or better 
  • Scored a 3, 4 or 5 on the End of Course assessment (EOC) for Math I 
  • Scored a 3, 4, or 5 on the 8th grade End of Grade ELA assessment 
  • Have written recommendation from the high school principal 

OR

  • Demonstrate college readiness on approved assessments in English, reading, and math 
  • Have written recommendation from high school principal

*Freshmen and Sophomores may not enroll in any CTE pathways that contain UGETC (Universal General Education Transfer Component) courses.


Rising Juniors & Seniors – College Transfer

A qualified junior or senior must meet the following criteria: 

  • Have an unweighted high school GPA of 2.8 or higher; OR
  • Demonstrate college readiness on approved assessments in English, Reading, and Math

Rising Juniors & Seniors – Career & Technical Education

A qualified junior or senior must meet the following criteria: 

  • Have an unweighted high school GPA of 2.8 or higher; OR
  • Demonstrate college readiness on approved assessments in English, Reading, and Math; OR
  • Have written recommendation from high school principal and his/her rationale for the recommendation in place of GPA requirement. 
    • Will not be allowed for CTE pathways that include UGETC (Universal General Education Transfer Component) course(s).

Approved College Assessments

  • Pre-ACT/ACT – English 19, Reading 22, Math 22
  • PSAT – English 26, Reading 26 (or composite score of 460 for Evidenced-Based Reading & Writing), Math 24.5 or 510
  • SAT – Evidenced-Based Reading & Writing 480, Math 530
  • RISE Placement Test – Reading & English 70 on tiers 1 & 2, Math 70 on tiers 1-3

Career and Technical Education

A qualified freshman or sophomore must meet the following criteria
