Beth Parrott Appointed to Association of Community College Trustees

Davidson-Davie Community College trustee, Beth Parrott has been appointed to the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT). The only committee member from North Carolina, Parrott is one of ten appointed members to the ACCT Member Communications and Education Committee.

The ACCT is a nonprofit educational organization comprised of governing boards that represents more than 6,500 elected and appointed trustees nationwide and beyond. These trustee members are responsible for governing more than 1,200 community, technical, and junior colleges.

Parrott and the Member Communications and Education Committee are tasked with evaluating the board’s connection to membership and making recommendations to strengthen the communication between the board and members. One of the primary functions of the ACCT is to provide leadership development and advocacy education to members. The committee also reviews and provides suggestions to enhance current educational programming and recommends new programs to the board.

Parrott has served as a Davidson-Davie trustee for 14 years and was nominated to serve on the ACCT Member Communications and Education Committee by her fellow Davidson-Davie board members. Parrott is the first Davidson-Davie trustee to serve in national leadership with the organization.
