Dominican Republic Service Learning: Puerta Plata & Espaillat

March 3 – 10, 2024 (Spring Break)

The Dominican Republic makes up about two thirds of the island of Hispaniola, the second largest island in the West Indies located in the Caribbean Sea. The DR shares Hispaniola with the country of Haiti. During this week long program, participants will be able to immerse themselves in a variety of service learning opportunities. Partnering with the organization 7elements, we will serve in the local communities on a variety of projects: housing, water, and basic medical necessities. We will be based at the 7elements campus, located in the town of Las Canas, which is on the northern coast of the country. Participants will also have the opportunity to enjoy two separate leisure days as we snorkel, enjoy a pizza party on the beach, and visit a beautiful blue lagoon. Join us as we experience local Dominican culture while taking part in some unique service learning opportunities!
