Study Abroad: Argentina

The 8th largest country in the world, Argentina is known for its delicious beef, the creation of the tango and soccer star Lionel Messi (among other things). Students from Davidson-Davie CC, Guilford Technical CC and Forsyth Technical CC are invited to apply for this faculty-led study abroad program at the Universidad Nacional de Villa Maríain Córdoba, Argentina. UNVM is located in the town of Villa María in Córdoba province. American students will interact with Argentine students in the classroom and through cultural activities including excursions to Córdoba City and Buenos Aires.
This trip is intended for: Students from Davidson-Davie, Forsyth Tech and Guilford Tech.

All participants must take HUM 180 – International Cultural Exploration during the spring semester. It is a 3-credit hour course. The class will be a hybrid and will include online content as well as some face-to-face meetings. Students will receive a sub-grant to cover the cost of the class.

Students who are selected for Argentina will be notified by Feb. 23. After acceptance, students will have until March 1 to pay a non-refundable $400 deposit to the Davidson-Davie Business Office to reserve their spot. Another $1200 must be paid by April 1. The final payment is due by May 1, 2018.
Eight students will be selected for this program. Each study abroad participant will receive a $400 sub-grant to cover the cost of the class, a passport or other travel expenses. Each participant will also automatically receive another $400 scholarship, for a total of $800. Pell recipients also have the option of applying for a Benjamin A. Gilman scholarship, which could cover the entire cost of the program. See details on the “Apply Now” page.
