Early Childhood Education

The Early Childhood Education curriculum prepares students to work with children from birth through eight years of age in diverse learning environments. Students combine learned theories with practice in actual settings with young children under the supervision of qualified teachers. Graduates are prepared to plan and implement developmental programs in early childhood settings.

Elementary and Secondary Education opportunities are also available through the Associate in Arts and Associate in Science programs.

The Associate in Applied Science in Early Childhood Education at Davidson-Davie Community College is  accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Early Childhood Higher Education Programs of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, www.naeyc.org. The accreditation term runs from March 2020 through March 2022.
