The Information Technology (IT) Emphasis in Digital Media Production prepares students for entry-level jobs in the digital design and multimedia industry. Students learn to synthesize multimedia, capture, create and manipulate digital images, generate and edit time-based content such as animation, video, and audio, and develop content for websites.
The program develops technical skills through practical applications that employ current and emerging standards and technologies. Students will be trained in the development of concept and design for multimedia and printed materials such as advertisements, videos, posters, corporate symbols, lettering and typography, photography, and electronic media. Students also develop skills in communication, critical thinking, and problem solving.
Graduates should qualify for employment as graphic artists/designers, photographers, multimedia specialists, video-editors, animators, web content specialists, digital media specialists, interface designers, and many new jobs yet to be defined in this expanding field.
